1990–1992 Member of the Supreme Council (Reconstituent Seimas). Signatory of the Act of Independence of the Republic of Lithuania. Member to the Committees on Health and Local Authorities
1992–1996 Spokesperson for Seimas Opposition, desk-officer to the Homeland Union Group
1996–2000 Member of 7th Seimas. Member of the National Security Committee (later- National Security and Defence Committee) of the Seimas
