- Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius’s Speech on Government Performance 2009 at Seimas
- 2010/04/15
- The Government Performance Report 2009 covers activities carried out by the Government over one of the toughest years throughout the two decades of the Independence.
Our Government had to assume an unrewarding task of taking the country out of the most difficult crisis over the Independence years. The fifteenth government can justly claim that the hardest crisis in the country‘s history has been tamed: the public finances which were on the verge of the catastrophe were successfully stabilized, and the future is much more brighter now. Today we have a good opportunity to carefully and calmly review the whole year, not only by listing what was or wasn‘t done, but also answering to simple questions: why we got entangled in such a crisis, and what conclusions we can draw from this as well as what challenges are still in store for us.
