Prime Minister sends greetings to new Danish Government

Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė has sent greetings to the new Danish Government, led by Mette Frederiksen, wishing them every success in the important responsibilities ahead.

‘On behalf of the Government and the people of the Republic of Lithuania, I warmly congratulate you on the formation of your new Government and the renewed trust placed in your leadership. I wish you

Allow me also to take this opportunity to congratulate you and the people of the Kingdom of Denmark on the occasion of Constitution Day.

Lithuania highly values the exceptionally close and trusted partnership between our countries. Our cooperation is built on shared democratic values, mutual respect, and a common commitment to freedom, security, and prosperity. Denmark has been a steadfast friend of Lithuania for many years, including during our path towards membership in the European Union and NATO. We remain deeply grateful for that support.

This year’s state visit of His Majesty King Frederik X to Lithuania was a powerful symbol of the close ties and friendship between our nations. It reaffirmed the strength of our partnership and the importance we attach to our cooperation.

At a time of growing challenges to European and global security, unity among Allies remains essential. Lithuania highly values Denmark’s leadership in supporting Ukraine and its people. Denmark has been among the strongest supporters of Ukraine, demonstrating that solidarity must be matched by action. As Denmark once supported Lithuania’s European aspirations, we now share a responsibility to help Ukraine secure its European future and rightful place in the European Union.

I am confident that Lithuania and Denmark will continue working closely together to strengthen security in the Baltic Sea region, support Ukraine, and defend the principles of freedom, democracy, and the rules-based international order,’ reads Prime minister’s message of greetings.
